We all saw that the pattern of tiger fur is particularly beautiful. On the brownish-yellow background, there are black-brown stripes. But in some zoos, we will see white tigers. What is going on?
In fact, the white tiger is not a freak, but a phenomenon of albinism. According to records, wild white tigers also appeared in ancient times. Like today's white tigers, they are actually a relatively special descendant with a small probability of appearing. In natural conditions, this probability is about one in ten thousand. Judging from the white tiger's fur, most of its brownish-yellow background has been albinized, with only a faint yellow on its forehead, cheeks and neck, while its dark brown stripes are retained, which shows that the white tiger's albinism is only a mutation in some genes. Scientists once cultivated completely albino rats in the laboratory. Even the pigment in the eyeball of these rats has been albino, and their eyes also look red. The white tigers commonly seen today are all artificially bred. Of course, if you mate among white tigers, the probability of white tigers appearing in their descendants is higher.
Not only white tigers, we can also find albino animals such as white snakes and white frogs. Some enthusiasts will specially collect albino animals to raise them, which is considered to be taking the wrong path.
