In autumn, bears have a good appetite. They eat almost everything they see and eat until they are round and plump. Why are bears so greedy in autumn? Bears are classified as the family Uridae, the order Carnivorous. There are three species of bears in China-brown bears, black bears and Malay bears. Brown bears are distributed in temperate and subfrigid regions, from northeastern China to Xizang. They are also the largest bear. Brown bears found in Alaska, United States can reach 3 meters long and weigh 700 kilograms. They are omnivorous. Black bears are more widely distributed, from Heilongjiang in the north, Hainan Island in the south and the southern slope of the Himalayas. They have a white "V"-shaped sign on their chests. They are omnivorous, but they are mainly vegetarian and occasionally eat carrion meat. Black bears rarely take the initiative to hunt. They have poor eyesight and are sometimes called "blind bear", but their sense of smell is very sensitive. Malay bears are only distributed in southern Yunnan in China. They are the smallest, about 1.2 meters long and weighing about 45 kilograms. They are black and shiny, and have a "U"-shaped yellow decoration on their chest. They are also called Sun Bear. The Malay bear is very special. It is a tropical and subtropical jungle animal that inhabits trees. It makes a nest in the trees to sleep during the day, and comes out to forage at night. Among these three types of bears, except for the Malay bear, which is in the tropics and does not have to worry about food and drink all year round, the other two types of bears can only rely on the sky to feed and can still have enough food and clothing in spring, summer and autumn. In winter, the weather is cold and the earth is frozen, so they have to eat or drink, so they have to reduce their activities and find a place to sleep.
Before winter, the bear burrowed into the cave (bear warehouse) and did not eat or drink. Its body temperature dropped, its pulse weakened, and its nerve response weakened, entering a state similar to hibernation. Female bears who are pregnant in summer still have to give birth and nurse their young at this time, which is under great pressure to survive. If you want to survive the winter, you have to eat hard in the autumn to make yourself fat; even so, when you "wake up" in spring, you will still lose a lot of weight. There is nothing you can do about it. After all, you have been hungry for dozens of days. Of course, bears do not "sleep dead" and hibernate like reptiles, and their minds can still remain clear. Bears who "go to bed early" or "get up late" may also kill each other because they are hungry. Therefore, it is dangerous for people to encounter wild bears in autumn or early spring.
